Multi-Signed

An item signed by more than one person.

A multi-signed item is any collectible that has been autographed by two or more people. Common examples include team-signed baseballs, cast-signed movie posters, band-signed guitars, and Hall of Fame-themed items signed by multiple inductees.

The value of a multi-signed item is typically driven by the most prominent or rarest signer, not by the total number of signatures. A team ball with one Hall of Famer among 25 signers may be valued primarily based on that HOF signature.

For team-signed items, the sweet spot (or equivalent prime location) is traditionally reserved for the manager, captain, or most significant player. Other signatures are organized around the remaining space.

Multi-signed pieces can be incredibly valuable when they feature a rare combination of signers — for example, a baseball signed by all living 500 Home Run Club members, or a photo signed by the entire cast of a classic film.

Authentication of multi-signed items can be complex. Some authentication companies charge per signature on the item. If only some signatures are genuine, the item may receive a "partial" authentication.
