Auto Card

A trading card that includes an authentic autograph from the featured athlete or celebrity, either signed directly on the card or on a sticker affixed to the card.

An auto card (short for autographed card) is a trading card that contains a genuine signature. These are produced by card manufacturers like Topps, Panini, and Upper Deck as premium inserts in their products.

There are two main types: on-card autographs (signed directly on the card surface during manufacturing) and sticker autographs (signed on a separate sticker that is later applied to the card). On-card autos are generally more desirable and command higher prices.

Auto cards are numbered to indicate rarity — lower print runs (/10, /5, 1/1) are significantly more valuable. The combination of player, card design, print run, and condition determines value. Rookie auto cards from star players are among the most sought-after items in the hobby.
