How to track TTM autographs

A simple routine keeps a growing pile of outgoing letters under control.

  1. Log it when it goes out Record the signer, the address you used, the date mailed and exactly what you sent: cards, photos, an index card, and any return envelope.
  2. Watch the wait Requests can take weeks or many months. A tracker shows how long each one has been out so nothing slips through the cracks.
  3. Mark the return When the envelope comes back, note the date, what was signed, any inscription, and add photos of the pieces.
  4. Learn from your history Your own log shows which addresses and approaches worked for you, so your next batch of letters is better than the last.

TTM tips that make tracking easier

Frequently asked questions

What does TTM mean?

TTM stands for "through the mail." Collectors mail a polite request, the items to be signed and a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) to an athlete or celebrity, hoping they return the items signed.

Why track TTM requests at all?

Once you have more than a handful out, it is easy to forget what you sent, where, and when. A log keeps you organized, helps you avoid duplicate requests, and shows you what has been out a long time.

How long do TTM requests take to come back?

It varies widely by signer, season and address. Some come back within weeks and others take many months, and some never return. Tracking your own send dates shows you how your own requests are going.

Can I use a spreadsheet instead?

Sure, a spreadsheet works. A tracker built for autographs adds photos of the returned items, status at a glance and keeps your TTM history next to the rest of your collection.

Is the TTM tracker free?

Yes. You can create a free Autographs 101 account and start logging requests. Paid memberships add extra features, which you can compare on the membership page.

Where do I find TTM addresses?

Collectors share addresses through TTM communities, team and fan mail resources, and collector forums. Always use a current, public fan mail address and be respectful of the signer's time.

Read the TTM autographs guide, or prep for in-person signings with the autograph signing checklist. Compare plans on the membership page.
